“Spice,” fans of science fiction novels will immediately tell you, is a naturally occurring substance on the planet Arrakis, in the book “Dune” by Frank Herbert. Spice, or “spice mélange,” (according the book) is a psychotropic substance that uniquely and singularly allows those who take it, and can handle it, to see into the future, past, and present, given them visions which penetrate time and space. The substance is the only thing that lets space pilots fly – it is the only way they can plot courses at the speeds necessary to travel the light years between habitable planets. Unfortunately, “spice” on our planet and not in science fiction is a word for a form of synthetic marijuana, which is implicated to have caused driver impairment which in turn caused a tour bus accident in Las Vegas recently that injured as many as 12 people in a multi-vehicle accident. If you’ve been injured in motor vehicle accident in Las Vegas, Benson & Bingham Attorneys at Law can help. Call us today for a free consultation to discuss your legal options.

This bus accident in Southern Nevada which injured at least 12 happened this last Sunday. In the early evening, around 5:30pm, cars stopped at a red light at the intersection of Maryland Parkway and Desert Inn Road were in for an unpleasant surprise. A bus with Herrera Coaches decals, which fortunately was empty, allegedly came barreling into the stop cars which made a whole bunch of secondary accidents take place as these cars then pin-balled off each other, making this a multiple vehicle accident in Las Vegas. The driver of the bus, after stopping when it hit a light pole, allegedly tried to flee the scene of the accident. He was unsuccessful, and may be charged with driving under the influence in Las Vegas after admitting to officer on the scene that he had been smoking spice. The 12 people injured in this bus accident in Las Vegas were taken to Sunrise Hospital. No one was critically injured, fortunately.
