Determining causality and negligence, as well as who is at fault, in an automobile accident in Las Vegas is not always easy. One party can claim that they had the right of way – that the light was green, that it was their turn at the four way stop sign, that they were in front of the other vehicle, and any number of other things. Problems can occur when there is disagreement, as their often is. The other person claims that the light was in fact green in their direction, or that, while they did hit the other vehicle from behind, it was because that vehicle changed lanes without signaling or looking, and without proper space for the first driver to avoid it. In a multiple vehicle accident in Las Vegas, like the one that occurred recently and shut down Desert Inn Road for some time, cause and negligence can be even more difficult. Depending on how the chain reaction happens, multiple people can be at fault or partially at fault, though even if you were partially at fault in a secondary or tertiary accident, you may be able to still make a claim against the original causer of the accident that could cover any share you would owe. If you were in a vehicle accident in Southern Nevada, multiple vehicle or otherwise, Benson & Bingham Attorneys at Law can help you determine your legal options, and represent you to the fullest extent of the law. If there is compensation you can claim for your injuries or property damage, we can help you recover it.

Multiple Vehicle Accident

This recent multiple car accident in Las Vegas happened a little before 2:30 in the afternoon on the 15th of this month on Desert Inn Road. Five vehicles were involved in the crash. Early reports indicate that the original accident was a head on crash between two automobiles, which then spawned the rest of the accidents. This closed the road, going both ways, between Sandhill and Boulder Highway. That stretch of road was not reopened for more than six hours, per reports from the Regional Transportation Commission.
